About us

Ward Yates is Jersey’s first boutique law firm specialising in corporate, finance and non-contentious trust law. The firm was founded in August 2014 by Nick Ward and Victoria Yates, both former partners of one of the largest international law firms based in Jersey. Our key objective is to provide a partner led, yet cost sensitive solution to fiduciary businesses, international companies and private clients and their onshore advisers seeking Jersey corporate and non-contentious trust law advice. Our ethos is to provide the technical quality and level of service expected from larger firms, but with the personal delivery, responsiveness and focus on the overall client relationship that drives a small practice.

Relationship Driven
We firmly believe in the importance of personal relationships and we enjoy working as part of a wider team to deliver a high quality service that matches each client’s individual requirements. We are focussed on building long term relationships with both clients and intermediaries and proactively seek out opportunities to add value. It is our desire to go the extra mile that sets us apart from our competitors.

Transparent
We understand that great client service is far more than just delivering high quality legal advice. We recognise the importance of getting all elements of the client service right, from providing the initial fee estimate to issuing our invoice in a professional and timely manner, with no hidden extras. We have a standard pricing structure for many of the services that we provide regularly and endeavour to provide a fixed fee quote wherever possible in order to ensure transparency and certainty on fees. We are always happy to discuss how our fees are calculated and will never issue an invoice for more than we have quoted.

Independent
We do not own or have any interest or connection with a financial services company. We are truly independent and recognise the importance of this both from the perspective of local trust companies who instruct us and onshore advisers who seek impartial recommendations on where best to place work.
