Ward Yates expands with two new appointments.

Jersey law firm Ward Yates is pleased to announce the recent appointments of Dr Elena Moran as Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution and Laura Le Meur as Senior Associate.

An English barrister and Jersey advocate Elena has over 15 years’ experience of litigating in Jersey. Elena appears regularly before the Royal Court of Jersey and the Court of Appeal and in recent years has been involved in several high profile cases. Her main area of expertise is contentious trusts, but she also advises on complex corporate disputes and employment law.

Laura is an English solicitor and joins from a major offshore corporate and trust provider where she was an Associate Director in the Private Client Team. In addition to her legal experience, Laura has broad practical experience in the establishment and administration of corporate and trust structures.

Ward Yates was founded in 2014 by Nick Ward and Victoria Yates as Jersey’s first boutique law firm specialising in corporate, finance and trust law. The firm’s key objective is to provide a partner led, yet cost effective solution to fiduciary businesses, international companies, private clients and their onshore advisers. Ward Yates are delighted to welcome their newest recruit, Corinne Barnes, as senior associate.
Corinne joins Ward Yates from Ogier where her practice areas included trusts, pensions, estate planning and corporate work. She qualified as a Jersey Solicitor in 2009 and prior to that was a logistics officer in the Royal Air Force.

Ward Yates is pleased to announce the promotion of Elaine Kelly to Partner with effect from 1 August 2016. Since joining the business in August 2015, Elaine has worked on a number of high profile transactions and has helped to develop and strengthen both existing and new client relationships.

Ward Yates Advise Greybull in connection with Tata Steel UK Acquisition.

Ward Yates, in conjunction with Forsters’ top ranked corporate team led by partner Craig Thomson, has advised Greybull Capital in connection with its acquisition of the Long Products steel business, to be renamed British Steel, from Tata Steel UK.

Ward Yates has been shortlisted by the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards 2016 for the award of ‘Industry Newcomer of the Year’.

Ward Yates are pleased to announce the recruitment of Advocate Elaine Kelly as their new senior associate. An experienced legal professional, Elaine joins Ward Yates from Ogier where she was a senior associate in their Business and Trust Law Group.

Elaine has over 8 years’ experience and her corporate expertise includes advising both public and private companies on high profile sales and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, joint venture arrangements, IPOs, high yield bond issuances and cash box transactions relating to placings and rights issues on the London Stock Exchange. On the finance side, she has significant experience advising on senior and mezzanine lending and security involving a range of Jersey structures, including limited partnerships, discretionary trusts, JPUTs and companies.
